- Jul 28, 2016 Update: There are some threads going around saying to use the Lenovo Bluetooth 4.0 drivers. I did try that and it seems to recognise and enable the bluetooth (you also need to enable the bluetooth services which Windows 10 seems to turn off, for some reason), but these do not work.

Alienware M17x R1 Windows 10
Jun 21, 2019 This provided the most stable and usable version of Win 10 since. There was information provided from Dell saying that Windows 10 would not be able to properly run on my computer, but have heard successful stories from other Alienware M17x R2 users that they have had no issues.

Completely disregard all that jibber jabber below, turns out i was downloading the wrong installer file, i had tried the wrong files, trying the A00 and A02 exe install files, where the one i needed was the A01 which can be found HERE, again did the extract option when prompted instead of clicking install.
Freaking love this laptop :D

Howdy Gang,
New owner of a second hand alienware and have fallen in love, first time with an ATI card and this 7970M really impesses compared to my old hunk of junk.
Anyway, was wondering if anyone has had any success in installing the Alienware command centre for windows 10 on the M17x R4, I have tried going to the Dell support page and it has zero drivers available for download on the page. I then tried the drivers found Here with no luck, even tried extracting first but it says it's not compatible with this device.
Has anyone found a work around to get it working on Windows 10? it's unusual for my google fu to fail me this hard.
Cheers

Alienware M17x R3 Windows 10 Clean Install
Hello,
I have been having issues with Windows 10 on my Alienware M17x R2 and have not been able to properly use my computer since I upgraded it. I initially did a clean install of Win 10, but quickly ran into locks ups and freezing. Then I did a different version of a clean install where I had Win 7 installed with all of my drivers, and then upgraded to Win 10 through the USB installation tool. This provided the most stable and usable version of Win 10 since.
There was information provided from Dell saying that Windows 10 would not be able to properly run on my computer, but have heard successful stories from other Alienware M17x R2 users that they have had no issues. So I have been trying to work with them to figure out what the issue may be.
So I decided to post here and see what kind of solutions you guys can provide. Running the driver verifier I was able to capture dump files of some of my crashes. Most of them were from the initial boot when trying to get into Windows, so I had to try to produce the crashes within Safe Mode.
I believe the issue may be related to drivers, since all of the ones Dell has are only supported in Win 7. The only driver I was able to successfully run was my video card driver, since all of the other ones caused locks.
